Let there be... Frabjous!
By which I mean, let there be A frabjous! Thus, having my Carboard Box Construction Kit, constructing the frabjous math puzzle with POV-Ray cardboard! Before you think I am losing it, take a look here, here and here. So, as you have seen, all my marbles are still in place.
Using the template
On the right you see the template I used to create the frabjous. In case you want to try out some things yourself, here you can obtain your own copy. |
|
Using a hobby knife
Thanks to POV-Ray's flexibility, I could create my own POV-Ray hobby knife for cutting the POV-Ray cardboard in the shape of the template above. |
|
How much carboard
I estimated that three pieces of POV-Ray carboard, using the Cardboard Box Construction Kit, would be enough for the thirty pieces I needed to construct the frabjous. |
|
One frabjous element
After cutting my POV-Ray fingers twice I finaly managed to cut out a POV-Ray cardboard frabjous element. Twenty nine pieces more to go... |
|
Ready to go
Although my POV-Ray fingers have blisters and are cramped, I have the thirty pieces needed to construct my POV-Ray frabjous. |
|
An easy start
As you can see I cleaned my POV-Ray display table and have started to construct my POV-Ray cardboard frabjous.
The first three elements, nothing to it! |
|
On the way
Although it looks already quite complicated, it is not to difficult, yet. |
|
What was I thinking
Now I am in a stage in which I am struggling how to connect which parts with which, with the remaining thirteen pieces.
By the way, had to cut two more pieces because I cracked the others while trying to construct the ... thing. |
|
Victory at last
I almost gave up. What a frustrating job! But, when the going gets tough... yep!
Hereby I present you the POV-Ray cardboard frabjous! |
|
Of course my POV-Ray display table is one you can spin. |
|
The POV-Ray Frabjous is not included in the Cardboard Box Construction Kit. I consider it my personal piece of 'art'. An example of what can be done.
